Though their relationship begins tense (Zagreus is literally trying to escape death), they grow to care for one another over time. Though Zagreus claims to not be the god of anything, the game indicates that he is the god of blood and life, making the two opposites of one another. The final romance option in Hades players will encounter, and perhaps the most interesting, is Thanatos, the embodiment of death. The scene ends with the two promising to remain friends forever, providing an example of philia, or "brotherly love." Zagreus takes it well, telling her that he respects her feelings. Dusa tells Zagreus that, while she does have feelings for him, she isn't attracted to him in that way and implying that she may be asexual. However, after maxing out your relationship, Dusa's cutscene is less of a romantic conversation and more of a conversation about romance. But Dusa's behavior in Hades is nothing like her apparent counterpart, as she is awkward and jumpy.ĭusa often behaves like a schoolgirl with a crush around Zagreus, gasping and emitting hearts when he is close and disappearing as if flustered or embarrassed after a short conversation. The game implies that she may have been Medusa when she was alive and had a body, as her name and occupation (Maid Dusa) are a pun on the mythological Gorgon's name.

The floating, disembodied head described as a "duty-bound Gorgon" is far from a traditional romantic option, and her ending is just as unconventional.
